Erstes Firmenmeeting 2026!

Regulatory changes – we stay on top of things

New market processes, LFW24, GeLi 2026, §14a implementation—the demands on energy suppliers and municipal utilities are changing rapidly. This makes it all the more important that we, as a software partner, not only understand the regulatory and technical fundamentals but also put them into practice.
Yesterday, we set aside an entire day: As part of our internal training session “Fundamentals of the Energy Industry & Mako 2026,” Lothar Lang from the Institute for Energy Services (ifed) brought us up to speed—from technical basics and market roles to legal frameworks and the latest requirements for market communication.

The AKTIF®dataService Release R1/2026 prepares our customers for the future

With nearly 70 participants, yesterday’s release webinar generated significant interest—a clear indication of the importance of the AKTIF®dataService R1/2026 release for users’ day-to-day operations in the energy sector. The focus was on the timely implementation of the regulatory requirements of GeLi Gas 2.0, which will take effect on April 1, 2026. But the release offers far more than just compliance.
In the area of market communication, the relevant formats have been comprehensively adapted. For example, AKTIF®dataService will in future support, among other things, the extended PARTIN and COMDIS formats for gas, adjustments to MSCONS, and the introduction of identification logic in UTILMDG. The latter ensures that terminations and registrations in the gas sector can now be transmitted either using the market location ID or all identification data. Additionally, error corrections have been implemented in UTILMDS, including the new transaction reason “Transitional Supply ZZD.” Also new: Network usage invoices in the gas sector can now be rejected by the network operator, whereby the incoming COMDIS reactivates the invoice and processing proceeds in the same manner as in the electricity sector. In addition, work and power values prior to the start of supply are now imported and will be taken into account in both invoice verification and billing going forward.
Beyond regulatory changes, users benefit from numerous convenience features and new functionalities. The sales module has been enhanced with practical features—such as the ability to delete multiple meter readings and energy quantities simultaneously, expanded information on balancing groups and control areas for feed-in contracts, and new reports for monitoring outage-related work. In invoice verification, the new “Reconciliation & Calculation” option is now available for resubmissions, which performs a meter data reconciliation prior to the actual calculation. In billing, the reporting requirement for reducing the gas storage surcharge has been implemented, the price type check has been expanded to the customer level, and XRechnung has been upgraded to version 3.0.
Furthermore, this release rolled out the foundation for task management and process automation across all systems—a promising building block that, following individual implementation, has the potential to significantly streamline workflows once again. Overall, the R1/2026 release once again underscores AKTIF’s commitment to providing its customers not only with regulatory compliance but also with genuine added value in their day-to-day operations.

Direct marketing, delivery, billing, market communication, and balancing group management—the range of topics discussed at the newly designed AKTIF exhibition stand was enormous.

Direct marketing, delivery, billing, market communication, and balancing group management - the range of topics discussed at the newly designed AKTIF exhibition stand was enormous. And this in an industry environment that is second to none, because E-world not only celebrated its 25th anniversary this year, it also set several records.
The organizer's figures impressively demonstrate that the leading trade fair for the European energy industry continues to grow: with 1,136 exhibitors—an increase of 16 percent over the previous year—and more than 37,000 trade visitors from 126 countries, new records were set in both categories. For the first time, an additional exhibition area was available in Hall 6, which was promptly fully booked. According to the organizers, seven out of ten guests had decision-making and procurement authority. E-world thus remains clearly the trade fair for decision-makers in the energy industry. Key topics this year included the energy transition in conjunction with security of supply, the use of artificial intelligence, and new storage technologies.
For AKTIF, this year's E-world was also a special year in terms of visuals. The new exhibition stand, enlarged from 20 to 30 square meters, with its striking honeycomb LEDs proved to be a real eye-catcher and attracted the attention of visitors to the fair. A lot of positive feedback confirmed that investing in a larger and more modern appearance was exactly the right decision.
The essence of the three days at the trade fair can be summed up in a simple formula: quality over quantity. While the total number of discussions declined slightly compared to last year, the quality of the contacts increased noticeably. Many discussions were in-depth and resulted in concrete inquiries. These are ideal conditions for intensive follow-up by our sales team.
The AKTIF stand once again showcased the entire spectrum of energy management. Billing solutions in all their facets were particularly in demand, as were topics relating to supply and direct marketing. Market communication, balancing group management, PPA processing, and redispatch were also on the agenda for discussion partners. Both the software and the related services offered by AKTIF attracted equal interest from visitors.
The visitor structure at the booth reflected the diversity of the industry. In addition to numerous new prospects—from municipal utilities to direct marketers and energy traders to companies in the renewable energy generation sector—many existing customers and partners also took advantage of E-world for personal exchanges. It is precisely this mix of new contacts and the cultivation of existing business relationships that makes the trade fair so valuable to us.
The conclusion is correspondingly positive: E-world is and remains the perfect platform for personal dialogue with players in the European energy industry. It goes without saying that we have already registered for E-world 2027. So please make a note of the date: February 16–18, 2027!

We have been present in the Startblock B2 coworking space in Cottbus since the end of 2023. Now we are taking the next step.

As of this week, our team has its own office in the start-up center—with its own mailing address and mailbox. There are two additional desks here so that our colleagues in Cottbus can use the office as a fully-fledged workplace.
What remains the same is the proximity to the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg, the CreativeOpenLab, and the lively community of Startblock B2.
Our managing director, Lars Ehrler, is also clearly pleased with the new premises.

We are starting the new year with healthy delicacies

We recharged our batteries together at today's New Year's lunch with a vegan red lentil and coconut curry and a broccoli and cheese mince soup.
The fortune cookie provided the perfect wisdom to go with it – a little inspiration for the start of the year that made us smile and reflect.
Well fortified, with team spirit and a dose of serenity, we feel well prepared for whatever challenges 2026 has in store.
Here's to a successful new year in 2026!

AKTIF presents a reliable foundation for supporting diverse energy industry business models at E-world

E-world energy & water, February 10–12, 2026, in Essen – Hall 1, Booth E120
Anyone who wants to get involved in the energy market must, not least, overcome industry-specific process hurdles on a permanent basis. This has been the focus of the AKTIF Group for almost three decades. From the challenging billing of dynamic tariffs, PPA constructs, charging current offers, and storage capacities to the customer-friendly preparation of business-relevant data in the electricity, gas, and heating sectors via a web portal: AKTIF is once again taking E-world 2026 as an opportunity to demonstrate the proven strengths of AKTIF software and services with regard to a wide variety of business models. Energy suppliers, direct marketers, and energy producers can also get an idea of the latest additions to the range of services. For example, new interfaces to E-Post and Check24, as well as the available web API, provide additional automation in day-to-day energy business.
"Our many years of experience in the energy market recently came to the fore during the transition to 24-hour electricity supplier switching. All time-critical processes were already in productive operation at AKTIF in June 2025, and the transition of the systems went largely smoothly. The enormous effort behind this did not shake our commitment to ensuring timely action," emphasizes Lars Ehrler, Managing Director of the AKTIF Group. The fact that confident market communication is regaining importance is evident to AKTIF from the numerous inquiries it has received in the recent past. The billing of storage capacities is also becoming increasingly popular – not to mention direct marketing issues. Here, the AKTIF Group has been able to further expand its expertise in the course of onboarding numerous companies in recent months.
AKTIF's software is just as much in demand as its services, which promise clients additional relief: "We have all the necessary expertise to support newcomers in the areas of the energy industry that are relevant to them. AKTIF provides advice and support in setting up and mapping the relevant processes in the areas of billing, balancing group management, and customer service,“ emphasizes Lars Ehrler. This gives customers crucial freedom to implement new ideas. ”Ultimately, we calculate everything that a supplier or direct marketer comes up with. This can vary greatly from case to case. The associated standard processes, which are usually challenging to implement, run smoothly in our ranks. That is precisely where our particular strength lies," says the managing director. The AKTIF team will be providing information about its comprehensive range of services at E-world at booth E120 in Hall 1.
